Going for Gold

We have extended and re-branded our ROHE range.

Meaning territory in te reo Māori, our “ROHE” wines take you on a journey to discover the unique flavours found in each of Marlborough's sub-regions. These wines demonstrate how the influence of climate, proximity to the sea and soil type can create vastly different tastes in wines that are made from the same grape variety and come from the same wider region, in this case, Marlborough.

Our GM, Brendan Neylon, one of the founders of the Appellation Marlborough Wine Map (AMW), said “We believe that sub-regional wines are the future of the Marlborough wine region. Our investment into the ROHE range is strategically important for our business. A new look provides an opportunity to hero the ROHE range, creating differentiation to the rest of our portfolio and a clearer channel strategy.”

Launching imminently to the market, the new striking gold labels of the ROHE range by Rapaura Springs are already turning heads.

With the addition of 2 new Chardonnays, the whole range of sub-regional wines have been cleaning up this awards season; securing 2 gold medals at the Marlborough Wine Show, a spot in the Top 12 AMW selection, a NZ IWS gold medal for Dillions Point Sauvignon Blanc and a double gold medal for the new Southern Valleys Chardonnay. That wine also won the Champion Chardonnay trophy at the NZ International Wine Show.

“I am really pleased that our first of the ROHE Southern Valleys Chardonnays was given such grand recognition. We have successfully developed our Chardonnay program with our sub-regional approach and I’m very proud that the hard work in the winery and vineyards has led us to the Champion Chardonnay trophy.” said Mike Bann (Winemaker at Rapaura Springs).
