WINEMAKING
Marlborough's trademark sunshine in late 2023 and early 2024 meant that summer was consistently hot, dry and windy - removing disease pressure, while fruit development prgressed rapidly. The near-perfect conditions during harvest meant our grapes were picked at full ripeness, while some cooler evenings ensured that acidity was kept in balance. The fruit for this wine was hand-selected and hand picked, then taken straight to the winery and whole bunch pressed. After pressing the juice was mixed together and then later transferred into a selection of 500 litre barrels. 36% of these were new oak. The wine completed wild fermentation and full malolactic fermentation in the barrels, before aging for 10 months.
