Winemaking Notes

The weather throughout the 2023 season was unpredictable and we were lucky to escape the cyclone that hit the North island. It was a vintage where patience was rewarded and those who waited harvested fully ripe grapes with concentrated flavours and classic acidity. The fermenting grapes were gently plunged twice a day to extract colour and tannins from the skins. After a final press and separation from the skins, it was oak aged for ten months, before being blended and bottled.
